A place located next to Unawatuna where find sun-kissed sandy beach called Buono Vista. One of well-known highest tourist attractive place in Unawatuna became very popular since the colonial era. There is a Sanctuary which declared by the Government of Sri Lanka where linked to Prehistoric era up to King Rawana.   According to “Ramayana” an ancient story which tells one piece of Himalayan Mountain dropped in here by Hanumantha. There are many herbal plants can be seen in here. Rumassala was one of major and historic place used for transporting vast quantities of Spices, Minerals and Precious Stone for ancient long voyages since thousands of years. There is an old jetty can be seen even today in this picturesque place. Near to the sanctuary can found the small cemetery for a resting place for many British Civil servants and sailors. Rumassala forest nestled for many animals and rich with vast biodiversity as well as many rare medical plants.
