Habaraduwa and Koggala located some sea turtle hatcheries, a totally nonprofit program to conserve this endangered animal. In most of nights, the officers of the hatcheries collect the turtle eggs and protect them until the babies are come out. Up to proper age limit, the owners manage the small babies and when correct times reach they release the turtle to water. It is a great scenery to watch also upon your request there is availability for volunteer works. Within Sri Lanka, there were 05 varieties of turtles have been recorded. Most of the turtles nesting their habitats around Southern Province with that main reason more hatcheries are located in this area. Hatcheries secure the lives of turtles as well as eggs, during the past Sri Lankan government had been imposed many rules and regulations to protect the turtles.
